A number of our Škoda engines use the FSI injection method due to the performance benefits of direct injection, it does however have its downfalls, such as the wash process further up the inlet being lost. Without washing the blow by gases containing fine oil particles, in conjunction with the heat of the combustion chamber, cause carbon to build up on the valves which can negatively affect the performance of the engine.
Walnut blasting is a new method that is more effective than the traditional chemical cleaning method, to remove carbon buildup.
